Daily Spend Limits
A daily spend limit is a rolling 24-hour ceiling — the budget that resets every morning, enforced all day.
How it works
All transactions sum against the daily ceiling.
When the sum crosses the ceiling, further transactions are BLOCKED (or FLAGGED).
Setting the number
Estimate legitimate daily spend × 1.5 — tight enough to catch runaways, loose enough to work.
Start conservative; loosen with data from the audit log.
Why daily beats monthly
A monthly cap only catches the problem at month-end. A daily cap catches it that day.
